Born in Seoul, South Korea, Kai grew up in the whirlwind of her family's restaurant, helping out during school holidays amid the heat, noise, and non-stop energy of a busy kitchen. That same restless energy found its true outlet behind a drum kit — and once she started playing, she never stopped.
An absolute force of nature with an infectious love of life, Kai was sent to London to further her education at university, where she quickly made her mark on the city's music scene. It was at a college gig that she first crossed paths with Aidan Strong, and the two became fast friends — bonding over shared musical tastes, big ambitions, and long jam sessions that would often pull in other musicians from their orbit.
When Aidan mentioned he was heading to Verbier, Switzerland, for a skiing holiday with friends, Kai — who had picked up skiing back in Korea — wasn't about to be left behind. It was on those slopes that she and Aidan connected with Amy and CJ, and in the buzz of that chance encounter, the four decided to form a band. The rest is history.
